Rising India
Power Sector
The main segments of the energy sector are hydro, nuclear, wind and thermal. Among these thermal energy has the largest share of more than 70% followed by hydro, wind and nuclear energy. The main energy segments primarily use fuels such as coal, oil, gas and other renewable sources for energy like solar, wind and hydro. The main growth factors for the power sector are a growing population, widening demand-supply gap and industrial growth. Rising population results in an increased consumption of energy and with supply of energy not keeping pace with the demand, there is an increasing gap between the two. In addition to this, industrial demand has propelled the consumption of energy. All these factors ensure significant growth opportunities for the power sector. Engineering companies, suppliers, EPC contractors are in huge demand in India.
